That wasn't my first time wheelin, first time with my jeep, used to go every weekend in my old blazer, but definately a big difference in a jeep, the places we went the blazer would never fit. But your right I'M Hooked.
Finally took my little jeep wheeling the other day, had a blast, the mostly stock 2.5 with 31x10.50's did o.k. Had to be strapped over a few hills, and made a few. I think with a lift, bigger tires and learning how to drive it a little better it will be fine. Special thanks to bounty hunter for...

I have a 2.5 4 cyl. ,not to fast ,but very reliable, gas milage still sucks, I get 15mpg if I'm lucky. won't do 70, but climbs very good. You can probably pick 1 up cheaper than a 6. No mods are going to make it a rocket, but do help a little. 8) 8) 8)
If it is a 2.5 fi , check the o ring on the injecter , mine did the same thing, after replacing the fuel filters and fuel pump, found out it was a .25 fix.
I think you are talking about posi-trac, posi lok is a cable that hooks to your shift fork, released from inside ,eliminates all vac. problems, since you no longer use vacuum. 8) 8) 8)
