HELP!!!93 YJ would not go into gear

Decided to go away from the office for lunch today and jumped into the jeep and fired her up. When I tried to shift into first gear it wouldn't go into gear, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th wouldn't work either. I tried to get it to go into reverse and just got a bunch of grinding. After shutting down the...

Got my bucking problem squared away

Jeep buying questions need answers asap Dropped the gas tank yesterday and noticed the vent lines for the roll over check valves were not attached to anything. Got some gas line hose from Napa and proceeded to hook the T fitting between the two vent roll over valves to the engine vent hose and...

    93 Yj fuel pump replacement

Took my gals 93 YJ to the stealership this morning and was told my jerking and bucking problem was fuel supply related and not electrical as I presumed. They charged $70 for this diagnosis and claimed perhaps it was a bad fuel pump. They want 3 Hours labor ($210) to drop the gas tank and...

    93 YJ bucking problem

Snitty, The engine wasn't hot, I didn't want to get burned when removing the coil. I see what your getting at and it makes sense to me. The problem occurs when the jeep is hot so it only makes sense to check the coil when it is hot. I believe I'll take a chance and replace the coil, I guess they...

    93 YJ bucking problem

Put a multimeter on the coil and the primary and secondary resistance readout fell in the range specified in the Haynes manual. Thanks for the input but I think the problem is else where, Anyone else got any ideas what could be causing this problem. Frank

    engine identification numbers

Using the the Haynes manual I've located the engine number on my gal 93YJ which is 4M x 27. Where or who can I call to see when this engines year of manufacture was? The engine was relaced a few years ago and I believe it was replaced with a older year bcause it has the dreaded Peugeot...

    93 YJ bucking problem

My gals 93 YJ runs like a top when cold and first started. It will run great for hours until I shut it off and try to restart it. Some times (not all of the time) we are experiencing a bucking/jerking worse than a cowboy riding a mad bull, It almost feels like the thing jumps time. Its a 4.0...

    rough country yj lift kit

I put one on my gals YJ about 6 months ago. Kit includes new springs, shocks, pitman arm, drop bracket for rear trac bar and necessary mounting hardware. The instructions are a lil sketchy but I'm sure you will be able to figure it out. The metal spring sleeves look identical but they are not...

it runs, no drips and one error

Put my wrenching hat on this weekend and installed a clutch m/c on my gals 93 yj. Removing and installing the roll pin was the hardest part and all went without a problem until the bleeding operation. I turned the 7/16" flared fitting nut in lieu of the 1/4" milled nut on the bleeder fitting...

    greenreaper93 m/c question

Greenreaper93 and anyone else who would like to chime in. The master cylinder part number 4636865 is a after market part and not oem. The stealership wants $209 and I've found aftermarket parts from $58-$89. Perhaps I should look into just a rebuild kit anyone have any ideas they would like to...

    greenreaper93 m/c question

Thanks for the response to my question with regards to replacing the clutch master cylinder in my gals 93 yj. You stated that recently you replaced your clutch m/c, I have one additional question for you. Every clutch m/c i've seen has a threaded port for the hydraulic line that supplies the...

    old man winter in N.C.

clutch-master/slave cylinder question Got hit last week with a pretty hard (for this area) snow/ice storm. Tried to put my gals 93 yj into 4wd to get around town in the wintery mix. The 4wd indicator lit up and could feel the gearing change especially when in 4wd lo but the front wheels were...

    clutch-master/slave cylinder question

My gal complained her clutch was feeling a little spongy so I checked the clutch master cylinder fluid level and sure as heck it was low. I topped off the fluid level and think by the position of the wet spot on the ground the m/c is leaking not the slave. My question is can I replace the m/c...

    4wd indicator lit-up during starting

Which Jeep Is Best? Decided to take my gals 93 wrangler to work this morning and during start up the 4wd indicator lit-up momentarly. Is this a normal thing (to ensure the light bulb is operational) or is there some sort of short I should be sniffing out? Her jeep is a 93yj, 4.0, 5 speed manual...
