Well I'm not sure, I am not sure how it would look on a yj, I do like the idea of cutting the wells to make room for the tires, but again, not sure about how it would work.

I think because it doesn't have any lift on it, and it has 40" tires. But that is a guess.

Yeah, the article I got this from said it was a Hemi (which would make all the difference in the world running tires that large!) Said they cut 3" from the windshield frame, raked it back 10 degrees and lowered the seats a few inches. I like the cage ( though it doesnt look very strong.)

Yeah, those 40"s are probably $650 each! The reason I was looking at this was because I was thinking of only doing a 1" SUA lift on my yj, and then carving out the fender wells with flat fenders to clear the 33" tires, which would give me the tire size I want, and no rubbing. That research...

What are your thoughts on the Lower Forty concept? Looks cool, but I don't think it would look right with anything but a JK (because of the already sloped grille and the windshield attachment, and the wider track) It looks to me like a cross between a Jeep and a VW Dune Buggy

I have a pair that I will be replacing in the spring if you are still looking then. They are good shape, I just like the regular plastic ones myself, and these were on the jeep when I bought her.

I agree with above posters: stay away from the 6.2! A diesel engines go, it's near the bottom.

Yeah, that would be the best of both worlds. I am just prejudice, I have only had half doors on both the jeeps I have owned. If I got one with full doors I would probably be spoiled by it. But I do prefer the look of the half doors when the top is off (which mine always was in the summer)

I have to say that the first thing I judge about a jeep is full vs. half doors. Half doors are the only way to go for me.

Ah cool! I go to grove city once in a while to go to the outlet malls, and have some friends in Mercer. I go through franklin from time to time. :-) And have worked the apple festival before. Do you belong to any local wheeling clubs? Any good places to go around there?

Awesome project! You are going to have. Blast with it. Start small, and work from there, just remember: everything you fix/repair will show you something else that needs done. :-) have lots of fun!
