4 Hi engaged at Highway speeds... Opinions?

I normally woulndt do this, but there are a few times where conditions were bad enough that i have. (White-out blizzard conditions) I've heard alot of people who disagree on this point, One group says that it should be fine to run it at any speed, the other believes that running it over 40 will...

    Electric or Flex fan

Alternator rebuilds are usually pretty cheap, but if you want any kind of reliability, go with a brand new alternator. The good news is that ANY STANDARD Mopar or Declo type alternator will work! A couple of months ago i installed my 150 amp powermaster and its been awesome ever since. For...

    snow

That...is...so...cool! I've seen those track kits before, they pretty much bolt-on to where your wheels go. <sigh> I guess its not exactly practical as a daily driver unless you live in yellowknife! :D

    CJ Opinion

I'm sure i don't need to tell you the obvious like checking for rust on key structure parts, signs of abuse, and *SERIOUS* oil leaks, but $1000 isnt that bad even with all that considered. Check the axle width to see if you are getting a wide track or not. Dropping in a manual transmission...

Frame rusted @ rear where shackle mounts :(

I'm currently in the middle of rustproofing my jeep, and i decided that it would be a good idea for me to inspect my shackels for similar damage, and i noticed that our shackle setups are different between CJ's and YJ's It appears as though CJ's have the shackles mounted to a hinge bolted to...

To down shift...or not to down shift?

downshift... definitely downshift all the friggin time on both my vehicles. If you know HOW to downshift properly, you get better traction control when slowing down than applying the brakes because you are not locking your wheels. Some people have differing opinions about downshifting into...

Can I have my soft tpp and hard top on at the same time?

Hmm... must be a "TJ thing" then... :D From what i've been able to tell by my CJ hard and soft top, i can't see how it would be possible to wear both tops at the same time

Can I have my soft tpp and hard top on at the same time?

actually, if you were to leave the soft top on, the rails would cover the holes in the tub that you would normally use to mount the hard top in the first place.

    Windshield Frames

I've heard that they are compatible, but i dont know anybody who's done the swap. I've also heard that they have a better wiper system, so please let us know how it all turns out.

Can I have my soft tpp and hard top on at the same time?

Nope! What I do is to just remove the soft top, fold it up in the back, remove the mounts, rails and support bars for it, stick em in the back seat AFTER i have put the hard top on. That reminds me... I'm gonna have to make a trek out to public storage soon for my hard top.

What darkness lurks under the Dash!

oh gawd! I did that last year with nothing but a haynes manual and a million people telling me to buy a new harness... (bah, humbug!! too friggin expensive) Anyways, The first thing i would recommend is to get yourself a BIG bottle of that "orange clean" stuff to get rid of all the shit...

    BAD TINT <grrr>

Howdy peeps. I just picked up a used replacement tailgate window for my hard top and it has a REALLY BAD tint job (the cheap film kind) which has discolored and scratched off in parts. I'm thinking that some kind of solvent could probably disolve and remove this crappy tint real easy. Any...

Isnt jeep concern but i want to get my opinion out!

*Sigh* Anybody else have a problem with this being in the "CJ YJ and TJ technical forum"? P.S. I drive BOTH a "jap import" and a jeep.

    New Carb Shopping

I've heard mixed reviews on the holley, particularly for offroad reliability and steep inclines. As far as the Weber goes, I've rarely heard complaints except from people trying to figure out how to hook up all the vacuum hoses. Also, correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the holley...
