    Weber Wahooooo!!!

 Yikes! That 3 inch slit will definitley gum up the works. Glad to hear ya fixed it. This is pretty much the reason i switched to silicone tubes for my vacuum shit. Silicone don't rot like rubber does and the nice bright red makes it really easy to see when something ain't right 8)

    Carbaration Blues Again.

I'm not sure, but i suspect that this $175 weber might have been for JUST the carb and not for the associated kit with adaptor plate, hoses, and filter.

    body work

I've been going hog-wild with the trusty pop-rivet gun lately. Mostly just patching floorboard holes and re-inforcing the trunkbed area where there are weak patches. I've been using the #20 cold rolled stuff and nuking it with tremclad (similar to rustoleum) The results turned out pretty good...

    Battery or Alternator

That'll learn ya!! On that subject, i have seen contol modules for lights and so forth from both quadratec and jcw that allow you to set an "auto shut off" time for each of the control lights. I might just do that for myself sometime cause i've done the same thing... As far as the...

    Which spark plugs

Considering that the 4.0 engine isnt exactly a high performance race engine, you should be looking for a brand that has a good reputation for reliability and longevity. I use the bosch double platinums myself, but then again i've upgraded my igntion and re-gapped for a bigger spark. Oh...

    Carbaration Blues Again.

You should definitely get rid of that carter. No matter how many times you rebuild them or replace them, theyre still hellish. I peronally find the weber pretty reliable, but I'd immagine that compared to carter, a windex bottle and a toilet paper tube would make a more reliable carberator. :D...

    Weber carb vacuum question

Okay, the ported vacuum is the one facing the valve cover. This provides a vacuum signal thats triggered by throttle. This goes straight to the distributor advance. This next mess of hoses is whats connected to the manifold vacuum. Note how they all come and go from the CTO. This is a...

    webber carb??

Yeah, mine ran like crap too until i fixed the vaccuum routing. The biggest thing that helped (at least on my engine) was routing the ported vacuum to the distributor. I'm sure there were also some leaky vaccuum hoses as well, so i just replaced the lot of them with nice fancy red silicone hoses.

    webber carb??

The weber will get rid of SOME of the hoses and clean things up drasticly, but you will still need the PCV routing back and forth to your valve cover. I tried it for a while with just the front PCV hooked up with a breather filter on the back, but i found that frequently oil would start coming...

    What's a juicebox???

Juicebox is the same thing as the TFI upgrade in the "how to" section of this site... http://www.jeepz.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Howto&file=engine_tfi They just pre-packaged it and provided instructions. This mod gives us 258 owners a major performance gain and more reliability from the...

    Stubborn Torx bolts #%@&!!!

Okay, i've been doing some sheet metal patchwork on my floorboards, and i want to take off the rollbars, but all those torxbolts are suck... I mean REALLY STUCK!! I've already destroyed 2 #40 torx bits trying to get them out, and i've even tried using those craftsman "screw out" bits (which just...

4 Hi engaged at Highway speeds... Opinions?

this is pretty much what i thought. I think alot of these "general fears" in regards to 4 wheel drive stem from SUV's that have crappy transfer cases and are driven by soccer moms who throw it into 4 wheel drive every time they get a little bit of rain. The main reason why i avoid keeping it...
