I have an '82 with the 4.2l and i can confirm that it is NOT equipped with a ECM, so there isn't really anything to bypass on it. I think '83 is the earliest model that a nutter bypass can be performed on.

The blazer motor swap is easy as hell and requires no wiring mods. The only thing is that it is a MESSY mod, cause you have to disconnect the coolant tubes and drain a fair chunk of coolant. Hose clamps help, but do not contain the whole mess. Next problem is all the filth on the original...

you might want to check clifford performance for stuff like that. Do you need to replace them for any reason, or are you just after performance? If its the performance thing, I've heard that you don't get big gains from doing that. You'd get better gains from mods like weber or holley carb...
