I wanted to share some pics of my 1966 M416 trailer rebuild. I purchased a friends M416 trailer almost a month ago. It started like this: After buying new lights, regreasing the bearings, paint, NOS reflectors, new shocks, and tagging it, I have this: The original data plates were...

    Sway bar link

I just took a propane torch to melt out the old bushing, then a sawzaw to the bolt. Replaced it with a grade 8 standard bolt. That was after trying with PB Blaster, tie rod seperator, breaker bar.

Does anyone else think Bestop is total CRAP?

I have a bestop bikini top, never had a problem installing it myself. Goes on quick. I also have their supertop, came with the Jeep when I got it. Works great. I did buy their rollbar covers, and returned them. They were waaaaay to hard to get on. Almost like they were too small.

    ABS and Brake Light

Had our 2002 Grand Cherokee out on the beach today. The ABS and Brake light came on. They didn't go off either, unhooked the battery to reset the computer, still didn't go off. They finally went off as we were leaving the beach. What could be the problem?

YJ Temperature Gauge / Gauge Cluster

I'm looking for just the temperature gauge for a YJ. If you have the entire cluster and don't want to separate, I might buy the entire cluster.

    Tie Rod Boots

I'm replacing the tie rod boots on my YJ and got the drivers side done. When I went to the passenger side, where there was no boot left, the tie rod is different. On the old boots there was a metal ring that had to be pried out, this is how the drivers side was. The new boot then fit around a...

Anyone using a "new style" Ford F-150 for a tow vehicle?

Oh, I was looking at the Ford factory service DVD, the same ones the technicians use at the dealerships, they only have the 6.0 listed in them for 03.

Anyone using a "new style" Ford F-150 for a tow vehicle?

Sure a 5.4 will tow just fine daily. A friend of mine has a 1999 F350 with a 5.4, auto, close to 200,000 miles, tows 8000lbs daily, often more, since the truck was new, and has yet to have a problem. He's a landscaper. Another friend has a 4.6 in his F150 towing 4k daily, another landscaper...

Anyone using a "new style" Ford F-150 for a tow vehicle?

I have an 03 Expedition with the 5.4. It does the job just fine on a 16' landscape trailer. In the mountans is where it starts to have problems. My brother towed 1 jeep with his F350, and I towed the other with my Expedition. He had no problems. Around town or even on long trips that don't...

    Transmission Fluid

It's a manual Why avoid GL5? The factory service manual and haynes both say to use 75W-90GL-5 on the AX-15. I just looked at what I used, 3 of the quarts are GL3/4/5 while the other that I only used a little of is only GL5

    Transmission Fluid

I went ahead and changed it, wouldn't hurt anything. Here's the old fluid, it was really watery and not so oily for lack of better terms.

    Transmission Fluid

I drained some into a cup, it isn't foamy. Here's a pic of it... I looked at some of the 75W/90W Gear Oil that goes back in there, that I used on the rear differential... it's a brown like oil should be. Should I just go ahead and change the transmission fluid?
