I was totally planning on going up north to my property, do a little mudding, just get away... Unfortunately, gas went up, and traffic's horrible over Labor Day weekend on I-75 anyway... Maybe I'll get up there once this year before it gets cold...

Yeha, the wiring is my primary project at the moment... It's old. It's cloth wrapped, properly known as "cambric"... It's aluminum. It's original, just one step up from knob-and-tube. A lot of it has been redone, but a lot still needs to be done. After the wiring, it's the galvanized supply...

I don't know much about the 2.5, from what I've heard, it's a quite capable engine, but doesn't necessarily have the "oomph" that some people are looking for. I've got the 4.0. I love the torque I get when my foot hits the floor, either getting on the freeway, or blasting through a mudbog...

Hmmm... The only thing I could suggest, and you might well have done this already, but check for burnt wires in the harness from the ECM to the firewall... My good buddy has a '95 Cherokee Sport, 4.0. He was heading home from work one day, and all of a sudden, the thing died. Just died. All...
