    Engine Identification

1057382 This is a long shot, but they might have swapped in a 232. It is identical to the 258. I don't really think anyone would swap in an engine with less HP but it's still a possibility.[addsig]

1056493 I've never done it to a XJ, but since they're attached like all other car doors, I have done something similar. We took the doors off a 87 Dodge Raider. We used bolt cutters to remove the pins. We originalls were going to use clevis pins to hold the doors back on later, but (now it...

    taking off the doors

1056611 It took about 30 minutes to take the doors off, and most of that was figuring out what we had to disconnect. Our idea was to get four long narrow clevis pins to replace the bolt that held the doors to the body, but we couldn't find any long enough so we were going to use eight small...

    Something I want......

1056831 Sad stories, theres a guy in my neighborhood with a 75 CJ-5, it just sits in his garage. He runs in once a week, it runs pretty stong. He does minor work to it. It needs a paint job. Wait.....that guy is me! I feel for you, I was once in that same position, can only hope that one day...

    Newbie Questions / Advice needed

1056925 DO NOT get the four banger with 33 inch tires, unless you regear. The four banger won't die even if you try to kill it, but it's still underpowered. If you're used to the 6 cylinder, the 4 banger will seem a lil wimpy. My top speed with 33's is 75mph, without regearing. I plan to go...

    Tread Life

1056927 Go with the M/T, the A/T's become racing slicks with a lil mud. They pack too easy. I know a few guys running them.[addsig]
