Since you didn't say what type of Jeep you have, I'll assume TJ from your aviator. I have a 33 inch tire on the stock mount. The 31 should be no problem.

Personally, I'd go with 31in Buckshot Mudders or the Wild Country M/T. I've seen both of these tires hold up well on and off-road. My father has 31s with no lift and aftermarket rims and has no rubbing, and since you only plan on mild wheeling i see no problem with that setup.

I mounted mine across the top of the tailgate on my CJ-5. The departure angle is uneffective, and since I frequent mud that is bumper height, it stays fairly clean. I can't use the tailgate with it on, but since I have no top it hasn't bothered me yet.

Well this has happened a few times only when I have my 97 TJ 4 banger at high rpm's for a long period of time. When I'm on the interstate going 70 at 3000 rpm's and i decrease speed and downshift to usually third (3000 or less rpms in third) My Jeep backfires. Anyone know what causes this? BTW I...

I've hit trees with the front bumper of my TJ (on purpose) and I also ran into the back of a truck (not on purpose) and it didn't go off, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing.

My friend had them on a Dodge Raider, and he swears by them. Great mud tire, and they have some road manners.

My 75 CJ-5 has it and the engine I'm dropping in (from an 80 something Scrambler has it too). I thought it was something the previous owner rigged up til I saw it on the Scrambler engine.

I went out to the parking lot today and my 97 TJ 4 banger wouldn't turnkey start. I didn't have any electrical. We jumped it, it started but wouldn't idle and just died. Then it wouldn't even do that, just the starter clicked and nothing more. I second gear started it and it started and idled...

I'm running 33x12.5's on my 97 4 banger. You'll see a loss of power, nothing a lil winding out the gears won't fix. Add an intake and exhaust and some of the power will come back. The axles will hold up esspecially since it's going to spend most of its time on the road. If you want to be able to...

I mounted an Autometer tach on my roll cage, but I don't think that'll help you. On the column is the next best place, its an easy install, shouldn't take more than an hour.
