    Just another tire thread!

I can tell you about BFG MT KM2's, even though they are not listed. But I would HIGHLY recommend them... I have had it on my rig for a bit over 3 years now. I used to drive my Jeep from Panama to San Jose (Republic of Panama to Costa Rica), whch is about 12 hours away. Did that drive about 8...

    Engine stalling

Oh, THIS sounds VERY familiar! I had this very same problem, so let me share some possible causes: Number one, and this was my case, bad ignition. In my case (YJ) the coil would get too hot, and then it would not fire well enough to ignite the mixture. Replacing the coil would fix the...

    Seat Covers

Rhino has to be professionally installed... You can use other stuff, like herculiner, but Rhino and Line-X are done by pro's.

I guess it's time for new ring and pinions...

No, I am not doing the install myself. I took it to the same shop that did it the previous time, as they screwed up last time, and they have to make it up. You can see in the poor wear pattern in the pics...

    S.O.A. swap pros vs cons

I just think a spring lift kit is simpler, and the extra flex is just not worth all the effort and fabbing that a properly done SOA will require. People think SOA is cheaper than a pring lift, but if you want to do it properly, it is not... It WILL give you more flex and keep the ride stock...

    S.O.A. swap pros vs cons

I was where you are at some years ago. For me, a regular spring lift kit was the final decision. SOA is not a simple or cheap alternative. And yes, it gives you great flex, but it also introduces other problems, like spring flex. I just went with regular springs and a U bolt reversal kit to...

    Seat Covers

I have fabric covers on mine (both front and rear). I take them off when I go wheeling, so they don't stain (I also take the carpet out; not a big issue, as my tub is rhinoed).

    Radiator Question

I put a V8 radiator on my I4 engine... When mudding, radiators get clogged up fairly easily, so you need extra cooling capacity so that even half the radiator has enough cooling capacity to keep the engine running (even so, I have had to turn the heater on to help on occasions). But the...

    Clean and protect hardtop

The best product I have found to protect the my hard top is called MY GARAGE! And it is STILL turning white (used to be black). :funny:

I guess it's time for new ring and pinions...

I know it's a bad install, so don't even mention it (I'll just get even MORE PO'd!). Luckily, I had an extra set laying around, so it's going in. The Jeep was actually driving, but it was making an odd sound (listen here) when under load (in the sound clip, you can hear me open the door, stick...

What type of top is this?

My guess, considering the fastback look and the large windows, would be a framless top; california tops used to make one, and so did Viking. I think now you can only get them from Rampage and eBay (I could be wrong)

Evening all, I'm new to you forum.

OK, little hint: square headlights on a wrangler can only mean one thing: YJ. Now, YJ's had different engines through the years as far as I understand, with the carburated one, the trhottle body injector, and MPFI being the latest (well, at least for the 4 cylinder one), so I am not sure which...

    AX-15 ??s

I also vouch for MT90... My transmission felt like a new one when I made the switch back in 2006. Have not used anythiing else since (except more of it, of course)

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Changed headlight bulbs to some new Osram Night breakers, replaced the broken washer fluid bottle, replaced some weatherstripping. Still need to do some more stuff to it, but it was too hot today...

I'm not a big fan of wheel spacers... Just one more thing that can fail.

    alternator swap?

I think he has the single fan dual speed one... For that one, just make sure both speeds cannot come on at the same time, and you should be fine. In my case, I use a 3 position switch, where the middle is OFF, the bottom is AUTO (it activates the control box; at this time, the box is not...

    What's your scariest Jeep experience?

Well, I will chime in with my own scary moments... #1 Scary Moment (street driving): When I was living in Costa Rica, I was on my way to the office. I noticed a strange feel in the brake pedal, but just thought "I'll look into it during the weekend). Well, unknown to me, the reason for the...
