it'll back fire through the intake and also through the exhaust, its violent and rapid too, dropping in 1000 to 2000 rpm intervals and launching back up to where i was running the motor.

in my driveway??? unless you mean where it back fires then in the city streets and worse over train crossings??

Yes it is injected andi did the wiggle test and nothing happened kept running fine... i also just replaced that senseor 3 days ago and it got better for the one day, and then it started up again...

I have it narrowed down to when im driving while in gear and i shift hard or when i drive down bumpy terrain, it misses and backfires and occasionally dies upon stopping, also it will have a really high idle after the backfire or miss, at which point it returns to normal upon a complete stop...

i use the JET chip and that teamed up with the 180* thermo, and high flow intake and exhaust it makes the 4 banger really geddy up and run.

Well the 4.0 has a little notch on it that i simply removed (with some pliers then sanded smooth) which prevents you from using it on the 2.5, it doesnt affect it in any way. You dont have to bore out the intake but its recommended for ideal airflow. I have to get rid of the helix in my spacer...

Okay, so when im at idle or at a standstill in my drive i can run the motor and it runs great, the moment i put it into gear and make my way down the street the jeep backfires and the check engine light will sometimes flicker, after the backfire and i come to a stop the rpms will sit at 2000...

I will try that guys, thanks! but the filter is new i installed a new one with the pump, and any debris in the tank i cleaned out before installation, but i will check the fuel pressure and start there. and yes it has a distributor.

i rebuilt the assembly and used the pump off summit that has the better performance, everything seems to be in order. However i dont think i have a fuel concern since its still dieing...

now its not even running without holding the gas pedal down to up the rpms.
