    Electric fan Conversion

I have dual flex-a lite fans on my CJ5. It has worked great. As for power gains and such I really think it's so small you really wouldn't notice. For offroading they are great. I have my fans on a switch which is great,Go threw a deep water hole or mud hole just hit the switch and turn them off...

    new with a 73 cj5 V8

You could find a used hydraulic setup from a S-10 those work pretty good. A very cheap way to lift and keep those bigger tires, would be a shackle lift and add a leaf. That would be better then a big ole body lift. Good luck!

    new with a 73 cj5 V8

Welcome James, I also have a 73cj5, They are great classic jeeps and only had that particular body 2 years. 72 and 73. Body lifts do create problems with clutch shifting when using manual clutch linkage. Specially while there is flex when off roading. I would recommend installing a hydraulic...

    4 inch shackle lift

Suspension lift is the right way to do it! If your looking to get some lift with a tight budget ( not serious off roader) then shackle and add a leaf does the trick. Good luck.

    Tiressss

Hows the flex with the 31's? Measure the true height of your 31's and the 32's your interested in putting on it. Different brands run different sizes. Also rim width can change this. My 35"tires are actually 33". Good luck

    Gas mileage in the CJ's

Mine was a carb. Long lasting smooth reliable motor it was! There is tons of them in junk yards to! Having a 4.3 fuel injected would be nice but have also heard of problems. Good luck.

Let's see some nice CJ pics please.

The tires in those pictures were q78 Super swampers. They are 35.5" X 10.5" They are as deep lugged as the 44 tires. Great off road! The dash is custom aluminum. Jeeps are a lot of fun and work at the same time!

    ? about lockrite lockers

Amc 20 stronger then a 44 (Impressive). Lock right from a model 20 to a dana 44 are not interchangeable. You can prob sell the other lock right on here if in good shape. Good luck

    superlift suspensions

Interesting on skyjacker owning super lift. My own experience has been super lift does have great on road characteristics. Off road maybe a little weaker/ soft. I had the super lift superide on a 73 cj5. 50% off is a good deal. I would go for it. You can always change it again. Good luck.

    Gas mileage in the CJ's

Also had a cj5 with a Buick 4.3 V-6 Had surprisingly good power and was getting close to 16mph running 35" tires. Low on power after 50mph but in an old jeep you probably don't want one that goes 100mph

    Front diff problems now.. Help!

Wow your spider gears did take a beating. I would inspect the ring and pinion for wear also. Yes you do need to take out your diff to change the spider gears. While its apart inspect bearings and give a good cleaning. If you are an serious off roader this may be a time to upgrade a few thing...

    Gas mileage in the CJ's

73cj5 304 2barrel 35.5" tires 4:10 gears about 13 Highway. If your not running bigger meats and don't need the power a straight 6 would be a good choice I think.
