    Which GPS?

WHITE SMOKE AND COOLANT LOSS I use NIMH rechargeables in mine. I get 8 hours on a charge - and it is much cheaper than running alkalines. I keep a set of alkalines on hand a s a back up just in case the rechargeables go dead, but i usually have a 2nd set of rechargeables on hand also.

    Which GPS?

On the WAAS isue.. i'm on the east coast and I can tell you that it helps a whole heck of alot. WAAS uses ground-based stations to transmit a correction signal to 2 additional satellites each in the atlantic & pacific. It corrects for atmospheric distortion of the signal. I have seen the...

2002 GCL Clunks when put into reverse

check your u-joints for slop. also check the diff too. try shifting into reverse and take your foot off the brake before it is fully engaged, see if it lessens the clunk. this should tell you whether it is the trans or the driveshaft/gears.

    jacking points

ditto that... use the stock jack points on the unibody. I'd put it on stands, remove wheels, then put a floor jack under the axle before you let it loose

Axle fluid leaking into rear brakes

Doesn't matter if the bearing has to be removed to change the seal or not. you want to change the bearing at the same time or you will be doing another seal before very long.

Axle fluid leaking into rear brakes

there is a seal that goes in after the wheel bearing. I dont think there's more than one on the rear axle though. keep in mind, if the seal leaked once and you didn't replace the worn wheel bearing (the reason it wore out in the first place), it will wear out very quickly again. If you go to the...

    New Jersey State Inspection

RE: Hood Misaligned. You could always put a bunch of cinder blocks in it to lower it 1.5" and hit another station.... You are required to have any equipment that was in place from the factory. If it is all still there you will be fine. They measure the height at the bottom of the door.

    Buying a High mileage Jeep

RE: Short in Cig Lighter socket? with that mileage i wouldn't spend more than $3000 no matter how nice it looks. in another 40,000 miles you will be replacing the rear main seal for starters (this is the source of the oil around the bell housing). When (if) was the clutch last replaced? You may...

    Short in Cig Lighter socket?

RE: A/C Compressor Problem it is most likely the socket. look inside and see if there is corrosion. also, if you can get to the back of it easily, check if the wires are good & tight.

    A/C Compressor Problem

RE: We made it to Mass now need parts does the a/c work well? if not it may simply need a recharge. Low coolant will cause it to rattle too. You can unplug the wire to the compressor and this will disable the clutch.
