    shock/Tire for washboard dirt raods

Don't listen to this guy. The 30 and 35 can handle 31" tires just fine. I've seen it over and over and over. 33" tires is where the limit starts, and after that you're just playing roulette. Anyway, a good pair of tires for your needs would probably be the BFG AT/KO as mentioned before. They're...

Never owned a Jeep. Tell me why I should buy one

Best advice so far. Except, make it a 94-95 YJ

    Good advice.

    Axle setup questions

That mechanic is a fool. The same shims are a good starting point, but very rarely will it be as good as you can get it. When you're dealing with new gears and new carriers, you need to go through an entire setup. Hell, I go through it with just new gears.

my yj bearing went out wanton my dana 30 want dana 44.

Not directly for a YJ. If you could find a 44 out of a Rubicon TJ, you might be able to torch the control arm mounts and put on leaf springs, but still you're looking at a lot of time and money no matter how you work it. My 44 is out of a 79 F250. It has almost the same exact spring pad width...

Gears 6 and R in 6spd rubicon with T case lowering kit

It's a typical problem with all Jeeps that run body lifts or tcase drops. When you change the position of the shifter you change where it ends up when you shift. You're better off in the long run getting a CV shaft. Most everyone I know has had to cut their console to get that problem fixed.

my yj bearing went out wanton my dana 30 want dana 44.

Get the bearing. You aren't going to find a drop in, ready to go, 4.10 geared, proper width Dana 44 front for a YJ for that. If you do, it's going to need a good bit of work. And even then you'd need to buy new wheels for the front. And then you'd have to buy new wheels for the rear and at the...

    My new used Kimber

Haven't got a chance to shoot it yet, but so far it doesn't like the first round out of one of the magazines. I'm going to strip everything down and clean it before I take it out and see if that makes a difference. Other than that, it has a little holster wear. Needs a little cleaning up, but...

Anyone have any experience with Kahrs?

I went to the gunshop today and stumbled on a Kimber Ultra Carry II. I've wanted this gun for a while and the guy had a used one there. That puts it in my price range. I'm going back tomorrow for it, he was closing when I called back later to see if he still had it. Said he'd hold onto it for me.

Anyone have any experience with Kahrs?

Why do you not like poly pistols? I feel like Glock has been proven beyond reliable and most major manufacturers have gotten a great handle on the polymer frame thing. I understand some concern behind the cracking, warping, damage etc due to dropping and temperature sensitivity. My concerns are...

Anyone have any experience with Kahrs?

I went to the gun shop today and handled a Kahr. I went in looking for a SIG 239 and handled a Kahr CW40. It's what I'm looking for, slim, concealable, not tiny but not huge, light, and supposedly very very reliable. Also it's fairly inexpensive. $425, new, one magazine. Anyone know anything...

    D-Rings

If you're talking about using the bumper itself as any sort of placement to put a tow point, forget it. The best thing you can do w/o spending a ton of money is get some towhooks that mount on top of the frame rail. The BEST thing you can do is get a good solid aftermarket bumper with D ring...

    My Jeep got broken into

Sorry to hear that Terry. That sucks. I've had my Jetta broken into. The only way I knew they got in was because I had my receipts in a certain place and they were scattered in my front seat. My neighbor got his backpack stolen that same night. I keep a loaded gun by the bed. I'm not one to pick...

    new; some questions

Everyone here has their own opinions on RC lifts. My opinion is that they are junk. Word on the street is that their products have gotten better, mainly their springs. I don't really like their components nor do I trust them from the issues I've personally seen and also read about in the past.

    Warn vs. Ramsey

My buddy used to run one. They're big, heavy, and solid as an ox. They're pretty reliable because of the design, just slow. The Husky winch pictured up above looks like a worm gear driven winch.
