Clean plate of info. Before this adventure the jeep ran fine. Dist and coil operated fine. Carb worked fine with the exception of stalling going over speed bumps. The occasional stall at a stop light but, that's a typical carters. Since I had time to have the jeep out of commission and had...

    No more module.

I just dropped a new hei in my 81 cj 258. Eliminated module. I spliced the plug going to the module that has two wires (red, blue) and used the red as a 12v power source. Works fine. I'm no expert but I think you have to change dist gears if you convert to gm hei. The one I bought was already...

Het fellas. Just pulled her in the garage. Bout 12:17 here and I got to get my azz to bed. Kids don't care how late you stay up. They still need to get to school on time. Anyway, turned her in to one turn out and much better. Still a "little" hesitation but definately in the right direction...

Times with timing light. She is set at 10* sounded like she wanted to run better higher but didn't want to push it. You want me to set timing by vac or leave it and get mixture right?

Yes. If you are real real slow to throttle, she alright. But if you need to cross an intersection, you would probably stall.

Bout 800rpm. I am confused now. I'm reading a motorcraft 2100 write up and it says to lean out mixture (screws in) until it runs rough at idle then back out 1/8 of a turn till it idles smooth and that will be the beat lean mixture. That's the complete opposite as what I'm doing.
