can't do it.. the belt goes right across the water pump and a bunch of bolts.. only way to get rid of the compressor, is to put a pulley up there or move the alternator..

I removed all of the a/c from my 1984 CJ-7 except for the compressor.. can't take it off because of the serpentine belt routing? anyone know of where I can buy one of those by-pass pulley assembly's so I can yank the compressor off the motor?

Is the melling readily available at parts houses like AutoZone or Napa, or ? what type oil do you use? Ive been running Rotella

so, by high volume, is melling a brand name? or type? thanks.. I can put a manual oil guage on to monitor the pressure just to double check it.. actually would rather have manual guages anyway... never did like electric sending units

I'm only getting 20lbs or less oil pressure, has anyone put a high output oil pump in there rig? if so, what type, and what results did you get? thanks..

get rid of the big long shackles, get rid of the rubber bushings, get some hard bushings, not sure what they're made of, but they are black and hard, no flex.. i had wandering so bad, couldn't stay off the sidewalks.. just kept nibbling away until it got to just mild wandering.. changed out...

a better alternative to the battery tender, is the new pulse charger.. it tests your battery, then pulses the charge in.. it will dang near bring a bad battery back to life.. it is regulated, so it will maintain your battery when charged.. it does a better job at charging than the traditional...

does the humm change with RPM? if so, you need a filter for Alternator noise.. if its a steady humm.. you need to "like the previous post said", check grounding and power.. and you may have to put a filter cap on the power lead depending on what piece of electronics its coming from..

well, got the steering box in with the heavy mounting, that helped...next the good bushings in the shackles rather than those soft rubber ones the backcountry put in there... steering column has to be rebuilt, its trash from the previous owner, dash wiring is obnoxious, I'm doing the nutter...
