    I have an 06 with the 2.4L I blew the syncrose In fourth gear 3 months ago. And I've just been nurseing it unitl I can pop in the Nvg1500 I have sitting in my garage. The 6 speed is garbage !!! Every one here on the north east had had terrible trouble with this transmission.

    A new heavy duty steering stabilizer might help. Old man emu makes a really good one. Is use one on my 06. Had the same problem till I changed it out

    Is a 68 cj a six volt?

    It shoud be labeled on the voltage regulator....if not. If it turns over. Spin it over. An check the voltage at the regulator with an amp meter. Or at the battery!!

    Coolant leak?

    Yeah. My guess is rusted out freeze plugs And they all should be changed at once!! Be sure to check all areas that coolant is could be exposed to air..... The problem only gets progresively worse as time goes on.. Inculding gaskets , heater core , and hoses. It's a big problem!!

    Coolant leak?

    There are freeze plugs on the back of the block... That would be my best guess but there would have been signs of oxiadating in the coolant ... Was it rusty in color??

    combination flasher/signal switch?

    I'm sure you'll find that there is a short some where in the trailor hitch wiring That would be my guess. But alarm systems do tend to real havok on electrical systems! Good luck

    anyone out there have a 2003 or 2004 wrangler

    Could anyone who has the above mentioned jeep with a 2.4L and 5 speed please meausure the length of the transmission case from the flywheel inspection cover to the front of the tranfer case. If any one could get me these numbers it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
