You should still have the cowl opening like the tj's do, but if you don't you can always drill a small hole on both sides and cover it with a rubber piece or maybe some rtv silicone.

I'm afraid duct tape couldn't cure this problem, the joint blew out some how, so when I would turn the steering would bind up, scary the 1st time it happend thought I blew out the steering gear

Iv heard of borgeson sure I spelled it wrong, I may just replace the whole thing since the other joints are proubly on there way out to. Still trying to find the better way to do it since borgeson wants 500 for upper and lower

Well looking at my shaft it has no splines that it looks like, the only way I see now is actually popping out the joint and replacing it, I just can't find the right joint, maybe its time the to upgrade the whole assembly

Can I replace just that part? I can't seem to find a direct replacement so in guessing I just answered my own question

1997 tj 4 cylinder 5 speed. This looks like a mini drive shaft joint on my steering shaft ( between steering wheel and pump) what's the correct name for this part cause I can seem to find it thank you for your help

If a bolt won't give on you, spray some penetration fluid on it, wouldnt want to fix broken bolts, atleast there a pain in the rear for me

Yes asd is the autoshut down, the cps can cause a no start situation, not sure if it immobilize the pump

I don't see why a tps or cps would cause a pump or relay issue, i would trace both ground and power wires, do you have a ASD relay? I know my jeep does and that also controls the fuel pump too. Id check there aswell. On my tj I have a fuel pump relay and an asd relay both affect the fuel pump if...
