sounds like you took the front 44 as far as you could go...BTT for a built 44.
just curious what size tires did you run on the 44? i got a 3/4 Ford 44 with stock shafts running 39 TSL's and want to spool it but i dont know it i can make it survive..LOL...sorry about the off topic post
i juest used paper towels and sopped it up..but you could also use brake cleaner...a lunchbox locker is a locker that replace the carrier gears and fits inside the carrier
hey guys been awhile since i have been on this board...glad to see it's still lively...
i am looking for a front ford dana 60 from a 1977-79 ford 4x4 one ton...i live in new brunswick Canada so the closer to home the better..LOL..basiclly if any body ahs one for sale in maine i would be...
your best best( as long as your ring and pinon are still good) to save the rear end is to get a lunch box locker and get rid of the carrier gear and clean the case out really good..
RE: Re: Recovery strap recommendations
if you read the artical buddy's only comment on the revolver shackles is that they preformed as they were intended to by keeping the jeep level even tho it was missing an axleshaft/tire...LOL...
not so much bad....just long....LOL...although i do sympathize with buddy...having an axle walk out of a tube is no fun...especially when on a highway
i have one of those types of ropes..i call it a my tug boat rope..LOL...the only problem i finbd with it is that when it gets wet and covered in mud it is one heavy sucker to lug around...i think the three inch wide 30,000 pound straps are plenty strong for offroad rigs..and they are pretty light :)
here is a pic of my 8274 mounting plate...they are really easy to make if you have something to cut the 1/4 plate...ie grinder or torches. if you use a grinder i find that those really skinny zip disc make nice clean cut's
