Check fluid? What year and trans do you have? Nothing on toutube? Most sealed units do really have a way to check them

The closest i have is when my wife a d i both had yj wrsnglers. Hers was a 93 and mine was an 87 so chrysler and amc, like you are dealing with but on the wranglers, the ac system was identical. I could swap everything back and forth and it would work fine. So not a lot help :(

Check your booster and your master cyclinder. I have had a bad booster cause yhe brakes to slowly engage and act like what you are having trouble with. Snd it can cause your rotors to warp which will give you the shakes when you apply the brakes.

there are also ways to tune you carb by ear, but they are not nearly as effective as a vacuum gage. i grew up with carbs and didn't have a vacuum gage till i had my 87 wrangler. i never knew what i was missing because the improvement i got using hte gage versus by ear/feel was amazing.

google using a vacuum gage on a carb and you will find youtube videos on how to tune your carb. is your exhaust maybe clogged?

i don't know what to use except maybe see if some alcohol will help break that stuff up. you might end up just getting a razor blade and peeling it off carefully though. that water deal is a good idea you are right, i have never seen anyone say to do that after heating but for sure, i bet...

i have used red locktite to lock wheel studs in place when going from bolts to studs. it held for a while but would eventually be able to be removed with just a ratchet and an allen head socket. i wanted it to permanent but it spun loose when removing lug nuts

Torque is great. I have been using it for years
