with my current issues with my transmission and needing to drain the pan anyway, id like to do something similar to this.
can you use the temperature hole as a drain hole too?

I hae to do the timing again but she's running 110% better. So you need to know it takes a litle fine tunning. I ended up using one spacer for the end gear and one for the rotor space. From the moment I turned the key it snapped to life, AND THEN! It turned off!!! :)
So next in my...
Ok so maybe I should have better prefaced my post. So I allready have a 4500 excel coil and the pertronics unit replaces the points in the distributor. (Or in my case the electronic eye from the malory system)
If you get their distributor I believe it is essentially a HEI distributor. But like...
I have a 74 waggy with a v-8 and the ignition module (aftermarket mallory) has been acting funny. My local parts guy suggested it. From what I've heard and read I'm excited to get it. And yes two wires from the distributor would be much less "nest". Ill reply again when I get it in.

Thanks for all the help,
So it would seem that the regulaor is going bad BUT the alternator is wired to be two wire, which is cool with me. Sooo... I'm just going to have it rewound at about $80 and all should be well.
I am new to these forums so my apologies if this tread should be in the wagoneer section, it seemed correct at the time.
To begin with I have a relatively newly purchased 1974 jeep wagoneer. It has the amc 360 engine, just had the turbomatic 400 rebuilt, and I'm having a weird issue with my...
As Tom Peterson would say... "free is a very good price!"
Definitely needs some tlc. Only problem could be the age. 75 and newer has to pass smog forever more. But a 401, if it runs, could be very good for a "getaway" car.
