    Faulty ballast resistor?

Had a no start issue and checked that I was getting fuel from the pump and all checked ok. Checked the voltage at the coil and was only getting 3.5 volts. I have a ballast resistor in line and get 12v on the hot side and only 3.5 on the side going to the coil. I assume that is the problem. I use...

    Help Me

You'll need to pull the engine or drop the transmission if your doing a replacement. Most likely easier to jack it up on both ends and drop the transmission. I've seen it done both ways.

    Camoskinz - jeep camo wraps

I have seen one here in Colorado and to be completely honest I hated the way it looked. I think if you do it minimally it might look ok, but doing a whole vehicle in camo is just downright silly. That truck and trailer on the website looks just stupid!

    New to the Jeep vehicle

Cool move to Colorado, what part? I would also not count out the CJ7 in your search for a toy (I'm a little partial in that regard). If your ever in my neck of the woods, look me up! Good luck on your jeep hunting.

    Steering cj7

Mine was a wonderer after my lift was installed and the problem was due to the caster being out. Do you have a lift? If so, did you install caster shims in your leaf springs? If not, you most likely fix the problem by installing the shims. CJ's had around +5 degrees of caster and mine was -1...

Restoring an old CJ - where to start?

Oh, P.S Under no circumstance try to start it with the ignition at first before making sure that the engine is free spinning. Put the transmission in neutral and put a breaker bar on one of the pulleys and give it a go. If it spins freely, then you can use the starter/ignition. I would also...

Restoring an old CJ - where to start?

Well, to start off with 69 is correct. Wiring loves to be bed fellows of rats and other critters and they tend to make beds out of it. I would get it running and once you know it runs I would go ahead and buy a painless wiring kit and get it rewired. The gas tank might be pretty full of sludge...

Non-stop high pitch whine from front end!!!!!!

What happens when you turn your wheels? Have you tried belt ease and if so, does it help? Distributors can make a high pitch whine but usually only when you start it up. Water pump can also make the high pitch sound you are referring to. Anyhow, that is about all I can think of that would cause...

Pinion seal leak and loose pinion nut?

Went ahead and replaced the seal and will torque it down to 180ft lb and just go with it... Didn't replace the crush sleeve so hopefully I don't have to redo anything.

Pinion seal leak and loose pinion nut?

Also for you AMC 20 rear end folks how many threads deep is your nut tightened if you remember. I only had three threads showing out the end....

Pinion seal leak and loose pinion nut?

I noticed my pinion seal leaking and tore it down to replace the seal, but when I went to loosen the pinion nut it took really no force at all to get the nut turning. From everything I have read this thing is a ***** to get off and so I am wondering if the nut being loose is what is causing the...

    CTO switch?

I noticed that the CTO in my jeep had a vacuum line disconnected and plugged and was wondering how this might affect things? The line going to the EGR is still plugged in. It is a 2 port CTO and the EGR is connected to the bottom port. Should I just connect the upper port to a ported vacuum...

    Engine swap for '07 JK

Yes, this is not about "chips" but programmers. With the programmer you cannot have your warranty voided because their is no trace of the programming left behind once disconnected and reset to factory.

    Vapor lock?

Do you have a return line hooked up? Typically if your experiencing this it usually comes from no return line or the return line is connected to a vent on the tank instead which decreases flow. I would also check for kinked lines for the return.
