does anyone know if the 4.2L (258 ) will accept the 4.0 transmission? was told it would work, but would like to make sure before i try to get one. OR- my 258 has a transmission in good working order but has a transfer case (that can be unbolted) and i need it to be 2wd.... is there a 2wd...

thanks forthe reply. So i now know it is an amc product, it's a 258cid, has a mopar transmission.... would like to still find out how much horsepower they have stock? thanks, josh

i have the opportunity to obtain a 1982 4.2L Inline 6 that runs great, but i know nothing about them..... I only have a couple of days to tell him i want it (for free) and want to become technically saavy.... my questions: 1. its an AMC motor, right? or is it some derivitive of like ford or...
